*‘Te Aho ki Hikurangi’ is our connection back to our first papakainga in Tamaki near the summit of Maungakiekie. Here Tuperiri established our mana and set out the papakainga that in time ensured our continued existence as Ngati Whatua ki Tamaki to today.
