The land at 152 Fanshawe Street, comprising some 2,000 m 2 of prime CBD commercial land, was purchased from the Crown in 2004.

Ngati Whatua selected a Joint Venture partner from a number of submitters.

The resulting Joint Venture constructed a prime commercial office building of  7000 m2 floor area with basement parking for 70 cars. Construction of the project commenced in November 2005 and was completed in June 2007.

This building has been designed to extremely high environmental standards.

We are currently working through the complex issues associated with the NZ Green Building Council to ensure the building obtains the environmental recognition it deserves We have proposed it is used as a pilot scheme for other green buildings to follow.

As well as receiving accolades from the Auckland City Urban Design Panel, the building has won a commercial design award from the NZ Institute of Architects for the northern region, and it has been nominated and is currently being judged for the National Awards.

The measure of success of this building is in the commercial realism. Quality buildings cost more but this expenditure must be balanced against the return and the marketability of the completed building.

At time of completion, the building was fully tenanted with high calibre tenants on long term leases. These tenants include Air New Zealand, Allianz, Cisco, Grant Thornton, and Stephenson and Turner.
