On 19 April 2007 the Vector Arena was unveiled with a spectacular opening ceremony.
Representing the owner of the land on which Vector Arena stands, Ngati Whatua O Orakei Maori Trust Board, the Chairman, Grant Hawke opened the evening with a whakatau (brief speech of welcome).
Te Puru O Tamaki supported with a resounding waiata tautoko (song of support).
So began a night to remember.
