Super City Governance Role

Manawhenua took to the streets on 25 May to back their right to direct representation on the proposed Super City Council.

In a display of Maori convergencence never seen before in Auckland, the hikoi came from marae in north, south, east and west of Auckland to support the demand for manawhenua representation.

As at June 2009, Ngati Whatua O Orakei Trust Board place some confidence in repeated statements by the Prime Minister that 'the door is not closed' on this issue.
